Hidden Brook Farm is proud to offer our own 100% Connecticut Grown cashmere roving and cashmere blends.
All of our cashmere is hand-combed each spring from our own herd, sorted by quality and color, and processed locally in Eastford at Still River Mill — one of the best cottage cashmere mills in the country.
Our 100% cashmere roving is a spinners dream, light and soft as a cloud and available in three colors. Brown cashmere is produced by our black goats, cream by our brown/red goats, and white by our white and silver goats. $28 per ounce.
We’re also proud to offer two beautiful blended rovings. Our 50/50 cashmere/tussah silk blend is processed out of our brown cashmere. $22 per ounce.
Looking for something a little more versatile? Our 70/30 organic merino/cashmere blend gives you all the softness with the added memory and strength of merino wool. $18 per ounce.
And if you want to bring a little llama into your life, we have a black 70/30 llama/merino blend roving featuring fleece from our herd guardian llama, Annie. $7 per ounce.
For the non-spinners, our first millspun yarn is our Old Goat Sock Yarn — a 60% merino/30% cashgora/10% nylon blend that uses the fleeces from our beloved herd members who don’t meet our high cashmere quality standards, either from the unfortunate genetic luck-of-the-draw or coarsening with age. $45 per skein (450 yards/4 ounces).
