EMW Aeros

A sweeter buck we’ll never again meet.

EMW Aeros was born in March 2015, by SCF Gangotri and out of CRC Annabelle. He passed away in January 2026, just two months shy of his eleventh birthday.

Aeros was a total package — big and beautiful, amazing cashmere, and a disposition second to none. He could be trusted 100 percent, and the does adored him in a way we’ve yet to see with any other buck, like they knew he was a gentlemen as much as we did.

Aeros gave all of his best qualities to his kids, and was a sire of winners, including the 2019 Grand Champion Wether, CFC Sir Clyde; 2021 NWCA/CGA Fleece Competition first-place doe, HBF Athena; 2021 and 2023 NWCA/CGA first-place doe, HBF Cher; and our 2023 CGA/NWCA Grand Champion Buck, HBF Loki.

And he was a character. He smelled just awful most of the time, but he’d win just about anyone over with his handsome looks and his silly character in spite of his stink.

In his later years, Aeros became a trusted guardian of the younger bucks that joined the bachelor herd, particularly for HBF Phineas, who in his first summer — and Aeros’s last — we’d often find resting alongside the old man.

That last summer, we knew our time was coming short, but losing Aeros in January 2026 still came as a surprise. One day he was here — showing his age, but still up and about, holding his own, hollering for his dinner. And the next day, he was just gone.

Aeros came to us from East Meets West Family Farm in Vermont, and we’ll be forever grateful to Elyse for allowing us to buy him. The mark he left on our farm and our hearts is unlike any other.

I’ve long said that the best farming decision I ever made was Aeros, and I don’t imagine that will ever change.

Rest well, goodest boy. You were, and always will be, so very loved.
